A Chilly Morning at the Arboretum

With the temperature hovering about freezing (which is cold for Davis), I took a stroll this morning at the UC Davis Arboretum. I was also testing a new toy — a Nikon D750.

The lake in the Arboretum had quite a bloom of duckweed (Lemna sp.) this year, and it’s still with us. I think I’ll call this Lake Lemna while it lasts. Bank to bank duckweed is viewed here through the leafless winter branches of a male dawn redwood.
