Vintage Cars in Williams

Big M Automotive is a dismantler of mid-20th century American cars in Williams, California. They have a yard full of rusty old cars from which body and engine parts are being extracted and sold to people restoring other fine classic vehicles. It’s also a fun place to photograph. On my visit there yesterday, I found that the images expressing my sense of the place best were made not with a DSLR, but with an iPhone. I used the Hipstamatic app and the grungy but sharp combo of the “Jane” lens and “D-Type” film, then finished with some contrast adjustments and toning in Lightroom.
