We don’t get snow here in the flatlands of the lower Sacramento Valley (and scarcely any rain either this winter, though at last in the past week we’ve started to get some measurable moisture). So among my favorite photographic subjects in winter in this area are the leafless branches of oaks and other large deciduous trees at the UC Davis Arboretum.
Single straight photos somehow don’t capture the visual impact of a walk among these trees, so what’s a photographer of still images to do? These are, in effect, multiple exposures, each built from a few separate images stacked and blended in Photoshop.
