Unlucky Sparrow

It flew into one of our sliding glass doors, thinking the reflections it saw were another fence and more trees.

It’s sad when the little birds make that sort of error.
You have made some very compelling images here, Tim. These are beautiful.

Too bad about the bird, but beautiful photos, Tim. I’m assuming these were made with Hipstamatic? Would you mind sharing the film/lens combo used for the monochrome images?

Hi, Alan. Yes, these were all with the Hipstamatic app on iPhone 5, and the B&W photos ware all taken using “D-Type Plate” film. This comes in the Tintype SnapPak (http://gear.hipstamatic.com/snappaks/pak_tintype). The first image was with the Jane lens (which I like for its minimal distortion). The 2nd and 3rd were with the Tinto 1884 lens (also in the Tintype SnapPak). Tinto is very soft focus, except for where the focus is set. The color photo uses John S with Ina’s 1969 (nice, but it makes the sparrow look like a bluebird).

Nice, Tim; thanks for the info. It looks as if you did a little post in Nik as well?
