Windy Day at Tenaya Lake

Returning from Mono County last weekend, I made a couple of stops in Yosemite, including here on the north shore of Tenaya lake.  The wind was howling out of the southwest on this day, as a cold front was moving in. Just a day or two later the first winter-like storm of the season arrived.

This time lapse compresses 15 minutes of real time into about 35 seconds. Images were taken at 1-second intervals (for 895 seconds) with a Nikon D80 DSLR controlled by a Pclix intervalometer. The movie was compiled in QuickTime and edited in iMovie.

One Response to Windy Day at Tenaya Lake

  1. Very fun time lapse movie. Beautiful to watch the clouds roll by like that. Also mazing how noticeable and dark their shadows are as they march across the land and water
