Surreal Skies

You know how when the sky is a pale, hazy white, without a hint of clouds and hardly even any blue, and you just want a grungy, textured background about 10 miles high to add a little interest behind your picture of some trees or whatever? No?

Right, well, late summer here in the Sacramento Valley has some of the blandest skies imaginable for weeks on end. Going for months without clouds is definitely a kind of sensory deprivation. Although it’s currently spring and clouds have been abundant here lately, I’ve been playing with a bit of abstract photomontage as a way of “fixing” some of last year’s empty skies.
