The Store is Open!

After having my web site at ZenFolio for more than a year now, I’ve finally made a serious effort to stock the virtual shelves of my e-store with a selection of images representing (I think) my best recent work. Prints are currently available in two sizes (scroll down for examples):

  • 12×12 inches, for square or nearly-square images (image size about 8 to 9 inches on a side), and
  • 12×18 inches, for rectangular images (image size roughly 8.5  by 11 or 12 inches).

Prints are made to order at Mpix Lab from files I have prepared specifically for this purpose.  Shipping is handled by Mpix as well.  I was at first skeptical of this approach — not making my own prints for on-line sales.  But although I’m an adequate printer, I’m no “master”, and having ordered several of my own prints from Mpix, I’ve been very impressed with the quality of their printing and the accuracy of their color.

Prints are modestly priced at $20 for the 12x12s and $30 for the 12x18s — partly because I’m not hand-printing these myself, and partly because I agree with the philosophy (nicely explained by Brooks Jensen) that many photographers would do well to offer their work at “real people prices,” avoiding, when possible, the gallery pricing game.

So come on in, look around, take your time, and thanks for visiting!
