Sumatran Tiger, Before and After

This Sumatran Tiger, who lives at the Sacramento Zoo, was kind enough to strike a pleasant pose for me during a recent visit. The light, though, was far from ideal, and required a lot of tweaking in Adobe Lightroom, followed by more adjustments in Adobe Photoshop, to create the final image you see below.

Here, then, for kicks, is what the original image looked like, straight from the camera (below). The cat is too dark, part of its back is too bright, the right background is too bright and contrasty, and the wire in the window glass is distracting (nearly in focus) behind the ear. Amazing what some careful digital processing can do!
