Tule Fog Rising

Cool winter nights in the Sacramento Valley often lead to dense ground fogs, especially over areas of wet ground. Known locally as “tule fogs” because they linger over wetlands, they may last well into the morning before slowly rising and dissipating. Here’s a recent foggy morning in the Yolo Basin.
